Mr. Charles Stewart has been the CEO for Itaú BBA International since 2013. Prior to Itaú BBA, Charles spent 19 years at Morgan Stanley in several capacities.  He helped open Morgan Stanley’s Sao Paulo office in 1996 and later was Head of Latin American Investment Banking.  More recently, he was Deputy Head of Investment Banking EMEA and a member of Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division operating committee

Dr. Luis Alberto Lacalle-Herrera was the President of Uruguay between 1990 and 1994. Alongside the presidents of Brasil, Argentina and Paraguay, Dr. Lacalle was one of the responsible for the foundation of the Mercosur in 1991.

Having started his political career at the age of 17, Dr. Lacalle was also a congressman, senator and president of the Uruguayan Senate. Dr. Lacalle-Herrera is the author of several articles about political and economic issues in Uruguay and Latin America. Dr. Luis Alberto Lacalle graduated has a B.A. in Law from Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de Montevideo.

Leo specialises in business and financial modelling and innovation commercialisation. He was part of the founding team and Manager of the London City Incubator, a technology accelerator that focuses on the commercialisation of digital media, healthcare and clean technologies. He also founded the Hangout in London, an innovation Hub in Tech City, where innovators, academics, entrepreneurs and students come together to commercialise and launch digital media start-ups. Prior to that, he worked with PWC and EY as a consultant for over nine years. 

Leo holds an Executive MBA specialising on Finance and Strategy from Cass Business School (with distinction), and has also completed programmes on Managing the Strategic Value of Innovations (Imperial Business School) and Financing Entrepreneurial Businesses – Venture Capital (London Business School).

CARLOS FERNANDEZ GONZALEZ

INDEPENDENT BOARD DIRECTOR AT SANTANDER AND FORMER OWNER & CEO OF GRUPO MODELO

Mr. Fernández served as the CEO of Grupo Modelo from 1997 to 2013 and Chairman from 2005 to 2013.

Currently Mr. González serves as Chairman of Finaccess, President of Fundación CEPA, Board member of Grupo Modelo, Banco Santander México, Advisory Board Member of Chrysler Mexico and active member of several non-profit entities.

Previously, Mr. Fernández served as Board Member of Anheuser-Busch, Emerson Electric Co., Televisa, Crown Imports, Grupo ICA and Bolsa Mexicana de Valores as well as Member of the International Advisory Board of Banco Santander.
