Dr. Mariano Groiso is Co Founder of Doers Health, an Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Health Start Up based in Argentina which implemented the first Watson in Healthcare in Argentina with the Government. Dr. Groiso is a Medical Doctor from the University of Buenos Aires, and holds an MSc in Healthcare Informatics from the University of London.
He led the Healthcare Industry in Latin America for IBM from 2010 to 2017. In this role, he helped develop the Health business in the region by applying innovative technologies and services to help governments and organizations improve the population’s health, reduce costs, get better outcomes and drive operational efficiencies. This included presenting and selling Watson Health solutions in Latin America.
Dr Groiso coordinates the Latin American chapter of the incubator for Health IT Startups HealthXL based in Dublin which is sponsored by IBM, Glaxo, BUPA, and Silicon Valley Bank. He is mentor in Healthcare for the Endeavor Entrepreneurship organization and for Incubando Salud (Health Incubator) in Argentina, Judge in Start Up Chile and Speaker about Watson Health, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence. He is also a Professor of Innovation in Health in San Andres University in Buenos Aires.
Prior joining IBM, Dr. Groiso worked asClinical Director and Business Development Director for Spain, Portugal and Latin America for the Global Health Practice of British Telecom, creating the Latin America Health Practice, helping the knowledge transfer from the UK, the evaluation of partners and strategic consulting to country managers on Health matters. He also led the writing of the Health Strategy for Latin America, presented to various Ministers of Health and spoke in various Health conferences in Latin America and Europe.
Previously, Dr. Groiso worked for two major players in the National Programme for IT in the National Health Service in the UK as Senior Healthcare Consultant, helping with the implementation English National Electronic Patient Record. Earlier, Dr. Groiso worked as Health IT business consultant in Hospitals in London and Buenos Aires and as a managing consultant in Accenture in UK and Argentina.
